Card, Set, Match

Disclaimer: I've been advised (by my not so helpful husband and my no-good best friend) that this post title is too ridiculous, but I'm going to stand by it.

I went a little crazy with my poppy print today. Yesterday, T and I went to a friend's wedding and, with only seconds before we had to head out the door, I printed up a quick poppy card for the gift. The card turned out so well that I devoted the entire afternoon to creating new cards sets with the print.

I was really happy with how the sets turned out, especially the aqua/greenish colour set with the orange poppy. I'm still working out how I'm going to package the sets of four though. I really want it to be something special, but the ideas I've tested out so far obscure the actual card too much, so I'm going to have to brainstorm a little more.

  1. What are some of the ideas that you have tested out for the packaging? Maybe run them by the blog world? Someone might have a good idea or two!

  3. strangely, I was walking past a stone display yesterday that had an aqua umbrella beside an orange sale sign, and I thought to myself that that made a striking colour combination...we must have been in a mind meld (which naturally was shattered by your insistence on Game, Set, Match).

  4. Thanks, A-Diddy. I was experimenting with tying the sets with fancy ribbon or decorative paper sleeves. Now I'm looking into these little clear boxes that are available through the same company I buy my white cards from. They look a little more professional. I'll definitely post about the options once I can take a few pictures.

Erin - I apologize for calling you a no-good best friend. You're actually pretty awesome. However, your taste in blog titles leaves much to be desired. :)

  5. Love them all..! (I'm partial to the pinky ones, though!)

P.S. Have you experimented with packaging ideas using vellum/glassine, maybe? :)

  6. Hmmm... not yet, Grace, but it sounds like a good idea. I think the clear boxes I've been scoping out are a vellum-like material, but I'll have to order some to really see if they work.
